The Columbus division of North American Aviation played a key role in the development and production of planes used during the Vietnam War and in use for training in the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Air Force Plant 85 in Columbus produced the F-100 Supersaber, RF-6 Vigilante, T-2 Buckeye, T-28 Trojan and OV-10 Bronco.
